GIVING BACK

I have a long history working in corporates as well as community development, and have a post grad from Wits Business School is in Public Policy and Development Management and Senior Leadership Development Programme from GIBS. Born in Transkei, I've worked in most of the previous homelands in rural development. I also lived in India, Nepal and Tibet for three years, and have a strong commitment to healing and the environment  - and to giving back.

 

When founding Shenang Wellness Consulting the first month’s income was donated to environmental projects at Tara Rokpa Centre, near Groot Marico, North West Province – a healing rural non-profit retreat centre where I volunteer on the Management Committee and also serve on the Trustees.  I continue to give back, donating a percentage annually as well as continueoing to raise funds for these projects as well as the Rokpa Trust Soup Kitchen in Joburg inner city.

Want to know how Shenang come about?

In March 2008 during a retreat at Tara Rokpa Centre, I asked my spiritual teacher, Lama Yeshe Rinpoche, for guidance on the direction and name for my new business.  He instructed me to do 'Inner and Outer Healing" and provided the Tibetan language translation "she nang".  Only later did I realise that this word also contained my name - nan!
